Our Career Peers serve as invaluable resources and team members in the Engineering Career and Co-op Center.
Career Peers are Pigman College of Engineering seniors, and technically, Career Peers are part time student workers in the Career and Co-op Center. But the technical answer vastly undersells the value the Career Peers bring to our team.
Our Career Peers are seniors with significant co-op experience and strong academic performance. These students serve on our team to help us round out the career development experiences for their fellow students.
Students can stop in without an appointment to meet with our Career Peers and
- get help building or editing a resume,
- get help writing or editing a cover letter,
- get help preparing for an interview,
- get job search tips, and
- get insight on what the co-op experience is like
- Have you completed 2 or more co-op rotations?
- Are you a returning senior (returning senior or fifth year senior = you have 1-3 semesters left as a returning senior)?
- Did you learn a lot during your co-ops?
- Do you want to help your fellow students learn about the importance of co-ops, internships, and advancing their careers?
- Are you willing to help teach your fellow students how to build strong resumes and how to start the job search?
- Do you want to be a valued member of the Engineering Career and Co-op Center team?
- Are you interested in a part time on-campus position?
If you answered yes, than the Career Peer opportunity may be just the opportunity you’re looking for! Based on the past cohorts of Career Peers, we know that our ideal candidates are busy and very involved. We are flexible on scheduling – don’t let a busy schedule keep you from considering becoming a Career Peer!
We consider students who may only have one semester left or three semesters left until graduation when they have had 2 or more co-op rotations.
