Calling all graduating Seniors this Fall! Come Join AirBorn as we are seeking to hire Design Engineers to work at our Corporate HQ in Georgetown, TX. This opportunity is an after graduate paid externship that will allow you to gain experience in the workplace for 12 weeks. Upon completion of the program, you’ll have the opportunity to gain a full-time position if offered.
SUMMARY: Assists with the planning, developing, evaluating and coordinating activities for the organization under the direction of a manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Support internal reporting and data collection
- Assist Design Engineers with developing connector systems based on customer input, production specifications, and test data and standard engineering practices
- Leverage various tools and technology to analyze data and identify trends (Engineering and design software)
- Assist team with designing tools for making components for assembly
- Perform root cause analysis and propose recommendations
- Ability to work with cross functional teams consisting of several different internal & external departments.
- Other misc. administrative and operational functions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Requires knowledge typically acquired through:
- One to two years related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to write articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format and effectively present information to top management.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- We seek candidates who have excellent analytical skills, a focus on results, the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas, and creative problem solving abilities.
- Qualified candidates must also demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to quickly assess problems and find workable solutions.
- Engineering (Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, Industrial, etc. (Will change depending on Major)
- Have the ability to work 40 hours per week (Start date will be between December 16th – January 6th).
- Current enrollment in a four year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and have at least a junior status
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (Official Transcript May be Requested)
