Supply Chain & Logistics Intern – Plant Operations

Location: Louisville, KY

Position Summary:

Please note – this internship requires working onsite in Louisville, KY and housing is not provided. Candidates must have confirmed housing in the Louisville area in order to be considered.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain & Logistics Intern – Plant Operations to support our field operations teams while gaining hands-on, real-world experience. In this role, you will support day-to-day logistics and operational activities at the Louisville LAP plant in support of the Durr Systems project. This role provides hands-on exposure to manufacturing site operations, logistics coordination, and enterprise systems in an automotive plant environment supporting Ford operations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in supply chain, logistics, operations, or information systems rather than traditional engineering design work.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site logistics and operations support for the project team
  • Track and follow up on incoming deliveries and material receipts
  • Perform SAP receiving activities, including confirmation of goods received and documentation support
  • Support users with Insite LMS software at the LAP site, including basic troubleshooting and usage guidance
  • Maintain accurate records related to deliveries, inventory, and site activities
  • Coordinate with site leadership and team members to ensure timely flow of materials and information
  • Assist with general administrative and operational tasks as needed to support site execution
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Basic ability to read technical drawings
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, on-site manufacturing environment
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Exposure to CAD, schematics, or technical documentation *Preferred
  • Familiarity with project tracking or document control tools *Preferred

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organization and time management skills ability to work on multiple projects
