We are seeking a candidate to fill the role of an Applications Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) who can solve complex problems independently but is also excited to work within a team-oriented environment. Strong computer skills, 3D measurement experience, and fabrication experience preferred. Strong work ethic, and “get the job” done attitude is a must. The candidate must be exceptionally polite in working with customers face-to-face and over the phone with a pleasant demeanor, with the ability to think outside of the box to meet the needs of the customers, and consult with industry experts and team members to define, solve, and present solutions to challenging opportunities.
The candidate must be flexible to meet customer deadlines, and comfortable with communicating efficiently and effectively with all members of the project team including customers, employees, and contractors. There is a practical and also a visionary component to this role – the ability to achieve real-world technological solutions and also foresee future capabilities and technology trends in computing, software, and hardware. Must adapt to performing tasks and duties in various customer environments. While multitasking to manage several customer projects and company requirements simultaneously, the ideal candidate will be intelligent, well-spoken, well-presented, and professional, with excellent communication skills.
The essential job functions or duties of the Applications Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) are as follows: Translate detailed customer requirements into completed projects including resolving missing, ambiguous, and contradictory requests. Manage and participate in system installations into customer facilities (hardware/software), perform on-site, phone, web, and e-mail tasks for the customer. Design conceptual solutions through to refined products for customer approval. Develop, deploy, and update system specifications with customers. Feed back customer requirements to engineering, R&D, manufacturing, sales, and purchasing teams. Manage project deliveries. Perform technical demonstrations for customers at the home office as well as customer facilities. Support system purchasing and fabrication, keep documentation up to date, and resolve any issues that might arise. Perform such other duties as are customarily performed by other persons in similar positions, as well as such other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Employer. Work closely with the engineering, support, sales, and management team.
