  • Assist with routine network configuration, maintenance, firmware updates, patching, backups, and equipment refreshes under established procedures.
  • Monitor network availability and performance; document findings and escalate complex issues as appropriate.
  • Assist with troubleshooting TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, switch-port, wireless, and VPN connectivity issues.
  • Maintain network diagrams, equipment inventory, IP-address records, rack documentation, and support tickets.
  • Coordinate with IT staff, vendors, service providers, and campus personnel on assigned service requests and deployments.
  • Provide basic support for user accounts, multi-factor authentication, endpoint-security tasks, and network-access requests.
  • Assist with information gathering and documentation during network outages, technology deployments, and security incidents.
  • Provide backup support for common end-user, hardware, software, account, and classroom-technology issues as needed.
  • Follow established IT policies, security practices, change-management procedures, and documentation standards.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain either CompTIA Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification within one (1) year of hire.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of technical education, certifications, internships, and relevant hands-on IT support experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting computer, connectivity, wireless, account-access, or other technical-support issues through work, internships, coursework, labs, volunteer work, or similar experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, switching, wireless networking, and VPN technologies.
  • Ability to follow procedures, troubleshoot issues methodically, document work, and escalate complex problems appropriately.
  • Strong customer-service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

One year of help desk, desktop support, technical-support, internship, or network-support experience.
